About Us

The Members present in the meeting briefly discussed the objective & goals for setting up an Alumni Association which include to Foster mutual friendship and cooperation among the former and present student & teachers of Govt. College of Physical Education, Patiala; to motivate students for studies in Physical Education & arrange Lectures for physical fitness and good health in different Colleges/Schools, to promote sports in schools, colleges & Universities; to award two scholarships every year to meritorious and needy students studying in Govt. College of Physical Education, Patiala and work for the development & progress of Govt. College of Physical Education, Patiala. It was decided to open a bank account in the name of Alumni Association in State Bank of Patiala.

The meeting constituted an Adhoc Committee in which following office bearers were elected unanimously:

            Chief Parton                Dr. Gurmohan Singh Walia, Vice Chancellor, SGGSWU, FGS.
            Chairman                     Dr.  Simrat Kaur, Principal, Govt College of Phy. Education, Patiala

1.         President                      S. Shamsher Singh Boparai, Commandant, 5^th Commando, Patiala.

2.         Vice President             S. Jaipal Singh, Supdt. Jail, Patiala.

3.         General Secy.              Dr. Parminder Singh, HOD, Physical Edu. Arya College, LDH.

4.         Joint Secy.                   Dr. Sashi Rana, HOD, Physical Edu., SD College, Ambala Cantt.

5.         Finance Secy.              Dr. Baljit Singh, Finance Officer, Punjabi University, Patiala.

            The Adhoc Committee will also include seven Executive Members.

            It was also decided Principal of Govt. College of Physical Education will be the Ex-Officio, Chairman of the Alumni Association.

            The Meeting Decided to nominate a constitution drafting committee for the association headed by Dr. Kanwaljit Singh, Dean Academic Affairs, SGGSWU, Fatehgarh Sahib.

            The Draft of the Constitution will be presented in the General Body meeting to be held on 14^th December 2014 at Punjab Govt. College of Physical Education, Patiala. The Adhoc Committee appealed to all the former students and teachers of Govt. College of Physical Education to enroll as members of the Alumni Association.
